The topic of Iran providing Russia with marches used in Ukraine was brought up during a meeting with American counterpart Joe Biden on Wednesday, according to Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog.
According to Herzog, they also addressed Iran’s nuclear programme and the oppression of its population in Tehran.
The agreement to define the maritime borders between Israel and Lebanon was praised by Biden and Herzog.
The accord was referred to as “historic” by Biden.
Biden stated, “This demands a diplomacy founded on ideals and perseverance. It requires a great deal of courage.
Biden said that the border demarcation agreement will allow the two countries to develop energy fields and would “create new hope and economic opportunities.
” The Israeli President’s visit to Washington comes in the midst of an existing tension on the fate of Iranian nuclear activities, as the Biden administration is trying to revive the agreement concluded between the major countries and Iran on its nuclear program, which puts it again under international control that guarantees its peace in exchange for lifting the sanctions. Israel is against the agreement’s revival.
In light of the fact that the United States is spearheading global efforts to assist the pro-Western nation face Russia, the file on Ukraine was one of the files presented at the conference. Despite Kyiv’s pleadings, Israel does not appear eager to participate in the conflict. However, Herzog’s visit highlights Israel’s concerns about the growing role of Iran accused of providing Russia’s deadly planes that Moscow uses against Ukrainian civilian targets.
Herzog stated, “I believe that the Iranian problem will be among the primary challenges that we will debate. Iran is pushing forward towards ownership of nuclear weapons and providing deadly weapons with innocent Ukrainian inhabitants.
Israeli intelligence has confirmed that Iranian drones have been used in the conflict in Ukraine, according to Herzog, who met with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on Tuesday. Herzog claimed to have briefed the American side on this information.
According to Herzog, “Iranian weapons play a significant role in the instability in our world, and the international community must learn from this now and in the future.”
