Regarding the terrorist attacks that happened on Saturday and Monday against the mixed water checkpoint, woods, and police in Tahwa, the Niger Ministry of National Defense has released a statement.
“As a result of the terrorist attack that occurred at the second police station on Saturday, October 22, and Monday, October 24, 2022, which resulted in the deaths of two police officers, the wild and air searches caused hostile elements to spread in order to liquidate gold at a covert gold site in the east of Mahalla.
The adversary, who is distinctly represented by air reconnaissance, was watched at the level of the aforementioned hidden site and transferred to the equipment pens that had been taken during the earlier attacks.
To eliminate these opponents’ presence and their hiding places, an air intervention was also ordered.
After the operation, a land poll confirmed the destruction of the targets and five bodies were found in areas.
The visit made by the administrative authorities and all officials of the defense and security forces at the sites, did not find the bodies and revealed the effects of theater.
The Say and Niamey Hospitals in Niger reported the deaths of seven (7) persons and the injuries of 24 during the visit, according to the facility’s administrators.
