The high emissions of the European Union by 5% after 2020, but it is still less than 2019

Following a lengthy period of decline, the economic recovery that began in 2020, the year of the Corona outbreak, led to high yearly carbon dioxide emissions in the European Union.
According to early estimates in a report released by the European Environment Agency today, Wednesday, heated gases that hurt the environment in the European Union are expected to rise by 5% in 2021 compared to the previous year.

However, emissions in 2019 were around 6% lower than they were the year before the Corona virus.
Since emissions from the 27 member states of the European Union have reduced by 32% between 1990 and 2020, the 2020 climate objective of a 20% reduction may very well be achieved.
According to specialists at the European Union agency, which is based in Copenhagen, the annual progress must be greater than twice as great in order to meet the most ambitious energy and climate goals for 2030.

If emissions are to be reduced by at least 55% by 2030, they must fall by 134 million tonnes of carbon dioxide per year, or 4%.

After 2020, the European Union’s high emissions will be reduced by 5%, yet this is still less than in 2019.
