Russia informs Washington with “nuclear” maneuvers .. and Biden warns

The United States described these drills as regular last year, but as talk of Russia possibly using a nuclear bomb in the Ukraine war has grown, fears of this weapon’s real use have increased.
These drills, which the Russians refer to as “nuclear thunder,” entail the widespread nuclear force, including the launch of real missiles, claims an American military official.

Washington reportedly had been anticipating the start of these exercises for several weeks but had not been informed until just recently.
These actions align with nuclear exercises that NATO decided to conduct in the past and are known as (fixed appearance).
With the involvement of 14 nations, these manoeuvres will begin on October 17 and continue until October 30 in Belgium.

This occurs as Joe Biden on Tuesday expressed concern that Russia would make a “big, terrible error” if it used a nuclear weapon, and as Moscow claims that Ukraine is a “dirty bomb,” a claim that Kyiv and Western nations have refuted.
The US President stated that using a tactical nuclear weapon would be “a catastrophic mistake” for Russia.
Patrick Ryder, a spokesperson for the US Defense Ministry, said that Washington is concerned about “Russian authorities talking about nuclear weapons and we are actively monitoring.”

In order to prevent any “dangerous slip,” he stressed the significance of maintaining channels of contact with Moscow.
Ned Price, a spokesperson for the US State Department, stated on Monday that Russia will suffer the repercussions regardless of whether it used a conventional nuclear weapon or the infamous “dirty bomb.” Russia today accused Western nations of plotting to exacerbate the situation in Ukraine by threatening to detonate a device containing nuclear material.

On Monday, a top US military officer declared that there is still no proof that Russia has decided to deploy nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons in Ukraine.
The person responded, “There is no evidence that they had taken a choice deploying nuclear, bacterial, or chemical weapons in the conflict. We still have no indication that the Russians have opted to use nuclear weapons.”
