The Milan team made a big step towards the 16th round of the Champions League, after its wide victory over its host, Dinamo Zagreb, the Croatian (4-0), on Tuesday evening, in the fifth round of the tournament.
39 seconds into the first half, Italian defender Matteo Gabia put his team on the board.
After French striker Olivier Giro added the third goal from a penalty kick in the 59th minute, his colleague, Portuguese striker Raphael Layo, doubled the score by the 49th minute, and Austrian defender Robert Leopitic added the fourth goal with “friendly fire” by the 69th minute in his goal.
After this victory, the Milan team increased its score to 7 points and moved up to second position in the standings of the fifth group table, surpassing the point of the Austrian Red Paul Salzburg team, which earlier on Tuesday also lost at home in front of the group’s leader, Chelsea (1-2).
While the Dinamo Zagreb team’s score stalled at four points, it is currently in the lowest position on the scale.
