It seems that the Argentine magician Lionel Messi is aware of the importance of exploiting the opportunity of Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo from participating in the Champions League in the current season 2022-2023.
Due to Manchester United’s failure to earn a spot in the competition and his involvement in the European League, Ronaldo will not be taking part in the Champions League for the first time during his illustrious career.
Ronaldo leads all previous Champions League goal scorers by 140 goals.
In the past days, reports indicate the possibility of Ronaldo’s departure from the German Castle during the next winter transfer period in January, in an effort to move to one of the teams participating in the Champions League, in order to move away from the top scorers of the historic scorers of Championege, for fear that the Argentine magician Lionel Messi approaches.
The fact that Ronaldo was unable to compete in the Champions League allowed Messi to benefit, as he was able to reduce the goal margin to just 11 goals.
Messi scored two goals to help Paris Saint-Germain defeat Maccabi Haifa 7-2 on Tuesday, sweeping them aside and advancing them to the round of 16 of the Champions League.
Messi has so far scored four goals in the current round of the tournament, three of them were scored against Benfica and one at Maccabi.
With 129 goals, Messi is second in the top list behind Cristiano.
