Learn about the wood of wood for the Golden Pharaoh Tutankhamun

The “100 years of Tutankhamun: Wonderful Effects” celebration that the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities started on its websites and on other social media platforms to mark the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the Golden Pharaoh Tutankhamun’s tomb is still going strong.

Houard Carter discovered three compartment-shaped sculptures of Ochbetti showing the king wearing a news crown or a blue crown adorned with a cobra beard, a crown linked with war, inside the King Tutankhamun cemetery.
The statue is constructed of wood and depicts a standing monarch with his hands crossed; one holds a pair of snaps, and the other a vibrating object. A text of spells was written, starting from the waist to the end of the statue.

The fact that another inscription stating that the statue was a gift from Nakht-Men, one of the army commanders, is found on the soles of the feet is interesting.
