Human remains located in Lake Erie near Long Point: OPP

After discovering human remains in Lake Erie’s waters, Norfolk County OPP is seeking the public’s help in both Canada and the United States in identifying the body.
On Tuesday, just before 3:45 p. m. , members of the Canadian Coast Guard and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton were conducting training exercises when they located a body at the tip of Long Point on the south shore.

The deceased is described as being white, between 5’9″ and 5’10”, weighing between 160 and 180 pounds, and having brown hair. He was dressed in pants, black hiking-inspired running shoes or boots, a grey hoodie with a blue, black, and grey “RED MTN” emblem on the front, and a grey hoodie.
Although the cause of death has not yet been established, an autopsy has been planned, according to the investigators.

In a video posted to Twitter, Norfolk County OPP Const. Ed Sanchuck stated, “We are trying our best right now to try and identify the deceased so that we can return him home to his family.” Since the family is viewing right now, I just want to express my heartfelt sympathies.
The investigation is ongoing.
