German Foreign Minister announces her intention to continue restricting relations with Iran

Because of how the Iranian government handles the protest movement there, German Foreign Minister Analina Perpuk declared her determination to keep relations with Iran restricted.

The policy belonging to the Green Party said in a statement today, Wednesday, that it is possible that the bilateral relations between Berlin and Tehran “are as they are,” noting that it is expected to impose other additional restrictions at the national level in Germany, in addition to the sanctions that were approved on the level European Union.
Regarding the current trade contacts with Iranian banks, it is anticipated that the already constrained business relations will continue to be reduced.

As the ethics police detained people for disobeying Islamic dress regulations, tensions arose as the Iranian government dealt with widespread anti-regime demonstrations that began after the death of Muhsa Amini, a young Iranian Kurd.
The young woman passed away on September 16 of last year, and hundreds of people have protested Iran’s militant policy ever since.

Iran-related restrictions will persist, the German foreign minister declares.
