After Canada, the Netherlands is investigating the opening of China two police stations on its territory

The accusations that China has set up two unauthorised police stations in the Netherlands and is using them to monitor opponents have been under investigation, the Netherlands Foreign Ministry stated on Wednesday.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently investigating the activities of the so -called police stations. When we have more clarity on this issue, the appropriate measures will be taken,” said the ministry spokesman, Maxim Hofncamp.

According to a research released by Safeguard Defenders, an international human rights organisation located in Spain, there are currently at least 3 Chinese police service centres in the Greater Toronto area of Canada, which are thought to be utilised to exert pressure on some individuals.
The Fuchu Public Security Office has opened 30 police service centres abroad in 25 locations across 21 nations, according to a report by the Human Rights Protection Group.

The Chinese government claims that between April 2021 and July 2022, 230,000 Chinese nationals were convinced to return home to face criminal prosecution there on charges of fraud and computer fraud.
Governor Michael Chong remarked that the Chinese government has added these police service facilities to its arsenal of tools for applying pressure to Chinese dissidents residing in Canada.

Sheng Xue, a writer and journalist from China who experienced online persecution from the Chinese government, has voiced her displeasure and worry at the opening of a police service centre a short distance from her home.

According to reports, the work of the Police Service Center is similar to the work of the Public Security Office on the mainland, such as changing driving licenses, traffic control, family registration, entry and exit, and replacing identity cards at the expiration of the validity.
Early in 2022, the Public Security Office of Fuchu also set up an external 110 alarm platform.

Following Canada, the Netherlands is looking into China’s decision to open two police stations on its soil.
