Aboul Gheit in the 50th anniversary celebration of Egyptian -Emirati relations: We are facing an impressive model

During the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the relations between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit said: This celebration came today in order to talk about Arab-Arab relations, not as a matter of criticism or crying as this talk usually takes place, but from the point of view of the great possibility that involves. We rejoice today, respect it, and express our satisfaction with it for the extended relations between two Arab countries that have accumulated highly particular and distinct links for five continuous decades based on these relationships in light of an exceptional model.

The League of Arab States Secretary-General emphasised that the model of relations between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, with its integration in various political, economic, cultural, and social aspects, represents with all honesty an example we aspire to. We anticipate what the relations between our Arab countries should be and the great capabilities and energies that can be launched, detonated, and used, if the relations between our countries are proper.

In every arrangement, bilateral or multilateral, between the Arab countries and each other, Aboul Gheit continued, the Arab League is always the first winner. The institution serves as a sizable, all-encompassing hub for all manners of coordination and cooperation between Arab nations. All Arab events and other forms of member state cooperation give the university power and vibrancy.

As the Secretary-General of the University, I always encourage Arab nations to establish contacts with one another as a path and a means of achieving Arab integration in the broadest sense. The Arab League’s mission is to institutionalise and make permanent, systematic, and all-encompassing collaboration and coordination amongst nations.
Today, we will discuss two nations that have made notable contributions and played a significant role in the functioning of the Arab League at all levels.

The UAE and Egypt are two nations that are eager to collaborate with other Arab nations. Each of them devotes a significant part of its movements and diplomatic activity to Arab work within the framework of the university.

Aboul Gheit drew attention to the fact that we are all concerned with rapidly evolving, fluid, and shifting global interactions and developments that involve repeated crises of unprecedented severity and frequency. In the midst of these crises, polarisation in the international system grows, and the tendency is intensifying and hardening in circumstances.

Aboul Gheit comments on the 50th anniversary of Egypt-Egypt relations: “We are dealing with an excellent model.”
