WhatsApp says service back after outage disrupts messages

Following a brief outage yesterday that left users around the world unhappy that they couldn’t send or receive messages, WhatsApp claimed service on the well-known chat programme has been restored.
People began reporting issues at 8pm NZT, according to Downdetector, which tracks outage reports. Users began announcing online that WhatsApp was functioning normally about two hours later.

A WhatsApp representative stated the firm was aware that some users were experiencing issues sending messages, that the problem has been rectified, and that it apologises for any inconvenience.
In 2014, Meta, formerly Facebook, acquired WhatsApp. Particularly outside of the US, where many people use it for daily communication, it is enormously popular.

After a disruption to messaging, WhatsApp reports service is resumed.
