The prime minister, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, emphasised that the decision to use open documentary credits rather than collection paperwork to carry out import operations was made to prevent the dollar from leaving the country and to allow it to be used to import essential goods.
In order to maintain the stability of the state and allow it to import necessities like fuel and food commodities, “Madbouly” claimed that the government made this decision in coordination with the central bank because there was no other option. He noted that at the time, he saw a $ 25 billion dollar exit from the Egyptian market.
“Madbouly” emphasised that the government is working to resolve the import situation and equip manufacturers with the necessary production requirements in accordance with the president’s instructions within the next two months.
