Al -Sisi: I do not consider myself a president and my intervention to protect Egypt almost cost me my life

Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the president of Egypt, reaffirmed that he does not see himself as the leader of his country but rather as someone who was asked to step in to defend it.

He said in his speech at the Economic Conference- Egypt 2022’s closing session on Tuesday that his intervention in 2013 to defend Egypt nearly cost him his job at the very least and his life at the very most. He indicated that those in power at the time received the full benefit of his opportunity and advice, and he did not spare them because, as he put it, “Honor is indivisible.”

“God honoured Egypt above the imagination,” he said, “and I was keen on the cohesion of the Egyptian state and its society when the events of June 30 occurred and the moment of the release of the July 3 declaration came.
Al-Sisi announced that it is necessary to hold an annual conference to discuss economic issues, and pledged to implement all the recommendations of the economic conference- Egypt 2022, expressing his approval to hold an economic conference every year.

The Egyptian President spoke about the national dialogue, saying: “We have been keen in the dialogue to be invited to listen to all in all different fields, and it was not in a specific direction, but all issues were raised, whether political, religious, or socio-economic,” calling for the benefit of dialogue in an integrated manner and its exploitation of communication between all, identifying all different circumstances and challenges, and discussing ways to confront them.

President Sisi discussed religious practises with a modern understanding that address the difficulties and changes in each civilization while also highlighting the literature and culture of the environmental dimension of religion.

Al-Sisi: I don’t see myself as the leader of Egypt, and I nearly lost my life intervening to defend Egypt.
