André Pavilco, the president of the Ukrainian Football Association, demanded that the Russian Federation be excluded from both the European Union and the International Football Association (FIFA).
In response to Dmitry Chernechinco’s remarks regarding the inclusion of clubs from the new regions that recently joined Russia in Russian competitions, Pavilco wrote on his Facebook page that the Ukrainian Football Federation will demand the exclusion of its Russian counterpart from the two football federations.
According to Pavilco, the Ukrainian Federation would write a letter to “FIFA” and “UEFA” requesting strong penalties against Russia under the guise of “Russia’s violation of the agreements of these organisations.”
Teams from the Logansk and Donetsk Republics, as well as the areas of Jacon and Zaburoje, will be eligible to compete in the Russian Football League thanks to Chernechinko’s earlier discussion of the process of integrating the new Russian territories into regional football competitions.
After a referendum in which the population of the regions backed joining Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the agreements integrating 4 freed districts on October 5.
