Belgium captain Eden Hazard confirmed that his country needs to win the FIFA World Cup in Qatar to justify the description of the “golden generation” that the team carried in the last ten years, as it hopes that the team will give its first prominent title.
The 31-year-old Real Madrid striker has represented Belgium as a captain since 2015. He is taking part in his third World Cup and wants to do better than third place in Russia 2018.
Hazard stated on the “FIFA” website of the International Federation: “I raised the ceiling of expectations. I will try to achieve a better result than 2018; however, it will be challenging because that result was very good. I’m fortunate to have a strong team driving badge, so we owe it to ourselves to raise the ceiling of expectations.”
