Michels wants changes to Wisconsin parole system

AP – WEST BEND, Wis. Tim Michels, a Republican running for governor, claims he does not want to halt all paroles but does want to name a chair of the Wisconsin Parole Commission whose objective is not to decrease the jail population.
The parole procedure and general worries about crime and public safety have been a pillar of Michels’ campaign against Democratic Governor Tony Evers.
Prior to this, Michels urged Evers to halt all paroles in the state.

By highlighting Floyd Marlow, a convicted killer who was captured last week after being released on parole in January, Michels on Monday brought attention to what he claimed are issues with the present parole procedure.

Michels wants the Wisconsin parole system to alter.
