ISESCO praises Saudi Arabia’s efforts to enhance the role of women in leadership roles

Salem bin Mohammed Al-Malik, the director general of the Islamic World Education, Science and Culture Organization (Isesco), complimented the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its efforts and strong commitment to increase the representation of women in positions of leadership and decision-making.

This was said by him in a lecture delivered via visual communication technology at a working session on best practises and global lessons for advancing women and gender equality that was hosted today, Monday, in Washington, D.C., by the World Bank and the Institute of Saudi Public Administration.

The World Bank’s activities and its position as a trailblazing organisation in removing obstacles to the advancement of women were acknowledged by the Director General of ISESCO, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

In order to support women in leadership roles, achieve gender equality, include them in plans for sustainable development, combat gender discrimination, and create effective investment bodies and organisations in the area of enhancing women’s capabilities, the Director General of ISESCO made several demands.

Additionally, he went over ISESCO’s projects and programmes for empowering girls and women, its crucial role in advancing the inclusion of women in the arts, sciences, and other professions, and how it supports global initiatives for sustainable development.
