Bloomberg: Saudi Arabia is in talks with Boeing and Airbus to buy 80 aircraft

According to reliable sources cited by the Bloomberg daily, the Saudi Public Investment Fund is in discussions with Boeing and Airbus E to purchase roughly 80 aircraft.
According to “Bloomberg,” the Public Investment Fund and the sovereign wealth fund are aiming to purchase roughly 40 aircraft and exercise purchase options on a comparable number.
The sources stated that the biggest wide-body models with long-range capability are in high demand, along with a single corridor.

This is the first time a new national aircraft has been purchased.
As part of its Vision 2030 strategy to reduce reliance on oil, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced last year that it would launch a second national airline to complement the Saudi national carrier. The new airline would primarily serve the capital. According to “Bloomberg,” Riyadh will attempt to compete with larger Gulf airlines for the global transportation movement as it strives to become a global commercial centre.

According to “Bloomberg,” the short-distance competition will be between the “Boeing 737 Max” and the Airbus A320neo aircraft, and the long-distance competition will be between the American manufacturer’s “787 Dreamliner” and the brand-new “X X” plane, which has not yet entered service, as well as its European rivals “A350” and “A330NEO.”
Although it is unclear if the two firms could split the cost of buying the fleet.
