A joint meeting of Sudan and South Sudan delegations to address Abyei issues

The Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Muhammad Hamdan Daglo, presided over the joint meeting of the two delegations, “Sudan and South Sudan,” which was held in the Republican Palace to discuss issues in the Abyei region. Counselor Tuttak, head of the delegation for the southern government, and member of the Charity Council Abu Ba also attended.

The Political Supervision Committee for the Abyei region’s minutes were signed by the two sides, according to the Sovereign Council media. General Muhammad Hamdan Daglo, Vice-Chairman of the Sovereign Council and Chairman of the Committee, signed on behalf of Sudan and Chancellor Tuttak on behalf of the government of the Republic of South Sudan.

The first team highlighted the importance of combining efforts, visions, and hard work in order to reach a shared understanding to resolve the Abyei issue, as well as the meeting’s overall spirit of understanding and harmony. They also emphasised that Sudan and South Sudan are one people in two countries that have united the bonds of love and brotherhood.

The Vice-President of the Sovereign Council emphasised the value of intercommunal communication among the region’s constituents and the need to strengthen the culture of peace.

South Sudan and Sudan representatives will meet jointly to discuss concerns related to Abyei.
