Even under the ideal conditions, learning a second language may be challenging. For this reason, a Mexican-born man from Vancouver started a YouTube channel in the hopes of assisting others with their English.
Vancouver’s Efrain Solis’s videos may not win any awards, but they’re helping people who are struggling with some challenging words in the English language.
Solis is the first to acknowledge that he is undoubtedly not a master of the cinematic arts.
He still spends a lot of time creating his online English tutorial videos, though.
LemmesaeitYouTube !’s creator, Solis, described the videos as “silly but entertaining videos to grab people’s attention.”
After moving to Vancouver from Mexico City in 2009, Solis immediately faced a lot of challenges in everyday conversations, such as something as simple as asking for a Coke at the convenience store.
When the cashier suggested pronouncing it this way, everyone laughed.
Your confidence immediately vanishes after that awful experience.
Many remarks, from the positive to the disparaging, were said to him on the streets that he had no idea what they meant.
You awful Mexican, (someone) said. I had no idea what that meant; did he just call me names? Solis spoke with Global News.
So Solis has made it his mission to master the language and try to help others along the way.
To star in his YouTube series, he invented the character Self-E after learning the fundamentals of editing.
“I’m a young child once more. I’m 47 years old and having a great time, he declared.
He still has a lengthy list of challenging English terms to learn, but he is making tremendous progress and hopes that his YouTube channel can prevent others from going through some of those uncomfortable situations.
