Between 37,000 and 37,100 Lebanese pounds were exchanged for one dollar during the evening transactions on Monday in the informal (black) parallel market in Lebanon.
The price of the dollar in Lebanon closed yesterday evening between 36,000 and 36500 Lebanese pounds per dollar.
It is notable that the circular released by the Bank of Lebanon coincided with the black market dollar’s dramatic Sunday afternoon drop in value from 40,000 to 35,000 Lebanese pounds.
The volume of trading on a banking platform reached 47 million dollars, at a rate of 30100 Lebanese pounds per dollar, according to the prices of the exchange of operations carried out by banks and exchange institutions on the platform.
Lebanese pounds can now be withdrawn from dollar deposits at a new rate of 8,000 pounds to the dollar, according to the Central Bank of Lebanon.
