Sweden: We will implement our agreement with Turkey to join NATO

News from Al-Madinah: Swedish Foreign Minister Tubayas Billesum declared that his nation’s administration will fulfil every condition of an agreement with Turkey in order for Sweden to join NATO and that Sweden’s foreign policy is centred on its direct neighbours.
He further stated that the PKK, which is regarded as a terrorist organisation by Ankara, Europe, and the United States, is a concern shared by the incoming government and Turkey.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Pilesters stated: “The Swedish government will not act foolishly in regards to the PKK. We wholeheartedly agree with the position that terrorist groups are not permitted to operate on Swedish territory.
All of the requirements outlined in the triple memo, which were agreed upon by the three parties, had to be completed, according to him, and “all matters had to be done in a secure legal fashion.”

In reaction to the Russian military intervention in Ukraine, Finland and Sweden submitted a request to join the alliance. Turkey, however, objected and accused them of placing a prohibition on the export of arms and backing organisations it considers terrorist, specifically the “PKK” and other rivals.

Ankara had asked the two countries to hand over the suspects wanted in terrorism -related cases, while the two countries say they did not agree to hand over specific people when they signed the memorandum of understanding.
