Poland hints that Germany continues to claim compensation for World War II

With the appointment of Arcadiush Mulartichk as a deputy foreign minister, the Polish government, led by the Law and Justice Party, the National Governor, signalled today, Monday, that it does not intend to set aside the topic of war compensation with Germany.
Mulartichk, 51, previously held the role of commissioner in charge of re-evaluating the war reparations Warsaw claimed from Berlin for the damage sustained during World War II.

He would be appointed soon, according to a representative for the Polish Foreign Ministry.
For the harm caused to the nation by the German occupation during the war that lasted from 1939 to 1945, Molartichk, a member of the parliament for the Law and Justice Party, headed a parliamentary committee that determined compensation of 1. 3 trillion euros (1. 3 trillion USD) in September.
Berlin turned down the proposal after receiving it in a diplomatic note from the Polish government.

The German government considers the issue to have resolved in a treaty (two plus four) of 1990, which paved the way for Germany’s reunification. The parties to the treaty were West Germany and East Germany in addition to Britain, France, the Soviet Union, and the United States.

Poland makes a suggestion that Germany is still seeking compensation for World War II.
