Madbouly: Not to impose any fees by any party except by referring to the council

In regards to the imposition of fees, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Chairman of the Council of Ministers, stated during the economic conference held in the administrative capital today, Monday, that the Council of Ministers decided not to allow any fees to be imposed by any party unless they were referred to the Council.

Madbouly emphasised that the government wishes to clarify to the average person that the word “exit” does not mean “selling,” pointing out that some have promoted the false and misleading notion that Egypt sells its assets.

The purpose of the state ownership document, according to the prime minister, is not to sell the state’s assets but rather to establish a precise organisational structure for governing interactions between the public and private sectors in economic activity.

He explained that the government’s goal of the document is to define a clear organizational and institutional framework that regulates the relationship between the private sector and the state, and reassures the investor, whether internally or externally, about its investments in the medium and long term, indicating that there are some projects that need to be expanded and the capital increases, so the private sector enters and makes an increase in the city.

He emphasised that the Egyptian state should double in size every year, but that it faces a demographic challenge that is impeding that growth. If it weren’t for the population barrier, we wouldn’t require fresh investments because the population of Egypt is rising by more than 2.5 million annually.

Madbouly: No party may impose fees other than by contacting the council.
