Iran .. the disappearance of a Spanish traveler in his way to attend the World Cup in Qatar

Travelers from Spain, Santiago Sanchez, stated that he vanished during his journey from Madrid to Doha to attend the 2022 World Cup, prompting questions about his whereabouts.

Santiago Sanchez, a 41-year-old former soldier and paratrooper, was last seen in Iraq after travelling through 15 countries on foot. For the previous nine months, he had been chronicling his journey on his well-known “Instagram” account, but on October 1, the day Iran entered the country through its tumultuous northwest border, he abruptly stopped publishing.
The Sanchez family claims that “WhatsApp” updates were also discontinued. Weeks later, the family is starting to worry.

His mother, Celia Kogidor, told the Associated Press, “My husband and I are very scared and we cannot stop sobbing.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Spanish national police were notified by Sanchez’s parents that their son was missing.
However, the Spanish government denies knowing anything about his position and has stated that the Spanish ambassador to Tehran will be taking over.
On Monday, no one from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to a request for comment.

Sanchez vanished in Iran, his final stop before travelling to Qatar, as the greatest anti-government uprising in more than ten years erupted across the Islamic Republic.
On September 16, protests broke out in response to the death of Muhsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish woman who was supposedly in the Ethics Police’s control because she was wearing a veil.
