European Union: Drones on Iran are separate from nuclear

After imposing sanctions on Iran because of its support for Russia with drones, the European Union stressed that these sanctions, whether related to marches or the suppression of protests separate from the file of reviving the nuclear agreement.
According to a senior European official who was quoted by Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath on Monday, “the Iranian drone is employed in Russian assaults that may rise to war crimes.”

The union plainly informed the Iranian authorities that supporting it with marches in Moscow was completely unacceptable, the official added.
It is significant that the European Union declared sanctions against Iranian officials last week (October 20, 2022). This was done in response to their support of Russian forces through suicide marches. At the time, the sanctions included the freezing of the assets of three people and one business as well as the ban on their travel to Europe.

At the time, he said that “four other Iranian entities that were initially identified on a previous sanctions list” would now be subject to the restrictions.
The European bloc also imposed sanctions on Iranian officials accused of suppressing the demonstrations that started since the middle of last month in the country, denouncing the death of the young woman, Mhisa Amini, days after her arrest at the hands of the religious police in the capital, Tehran.

Both Iran and Russia denied that they had agreements to buy drones, but the United States and several European nations stated that they had concrete proof to support this.
Notably, Tehran confirmed last week that it had not and would not supply any group with weaponry for use in Ukraine.
Kyiv, in turn, has acknowledged that over the past several weeks, she has been keeping an eye on a number of Russian assaults employing drones produced in Iran in the pattern of the 136th.

EU: Iran’s use of drones is unrelated to its nuclear programme.
