The Merinji midfielder Luka Modric will not be playing in the Champions League match against Leipzig on Tuesday in the fifth round due to injury, according to Real Madrid.
Despite the announcement of the Italian Carlo Ancelotti, the Real Madrid coach, the Marinji list traveling to the city of Leipzig, and Luka Modric was present, but the Royal Club issued an official statement through which he confirmed the exclusion of Modric from facing Leipzig in the Champions League.
Real Madrid said in his statement: “Luka Modric will not play the Real Madrid match and Liepzig, in the fifth round of the Champions League group stage, scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday at the Red Paul Arena. ”
“Modric was on the list compiled by coach Carlo Ancelotti for the match against Leipzig, but he was left off at the last minute and will not be travelling with the club,” he continued.
” In his statement, Real Madrid did not reveal whether Modric was suffering from an injury or not, at a time when press reports indicated that the Croatian suffers from a plus pregnancy in one of his legs, and a state of optimism prevails among Real Madrid doctors about his condition and that he will be ready to participate against Girona in La Liga”.
Real Madrid leads its Champions League group with 10 points, while Leipzig is second in Al-Wasafa with 6.
