According to press reports, a powerful earthquake measuring five on the Richter scale occurred on Sunday night in the southern portion of the northwest “Xinjiang” region.
The earthquake was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometres, according to the American Geological Survey Center, and its epicentre was located at 37,629 degrees north latitude and 77,825 degrees east.
Property or human losses have not yet been mentioned in the reports.
The Chinese “Xinjiang” area’s southern part is shaken by an earthquake of magnitude 5.
