After losing 2-1 on Sunday at the top of the competition’s sixth stage matches, Wydad Casablanca made the decision to engage in a derby with his longtime foe Raja Casablanca for his own gain.
Wydad’s score increased to 14 points at the top of the standings, two points more than its nearest rivals, the Royal Army and Al-Rabati, while Raja’s score, which suffered its second loss in the competition against a single win and three draws, stopped at 6 points in twelfth place, continuing its disastrous start to the competition this season.
Ayman Al-Hassouni scored Al-first Wadad’s goal in the 57th minute, Arsene Zola added a second goal in the 80th minute, and Mohamed Nahiri secured Raja’s lone goal with a penalty kick in the 90th minute.
Wydad determines who will lead in the Casablanca derby.
