Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson withdrew from the competition for the position of Conservative Party leader, saying he has a sufficient number of legislators to advance to the next stage, but former Finance Minister Rishi Sonak succeeded.

He declared: “I am confident in my capacity to win the 2024 elections, and I have already been able to secure the required number of deputies. However, I believe that this is not the best course of action for my career as I am unable to contest for the party leadership of a divided party.
