The Israeli Supreme Court rejects all the petitions submitted against the agreement to demarcate the maritime border with Lebanon

News from Al-Madinah: The agreement to demarcate the maritime borders between Israel and Lebanon received a response from the Israeli Supreme Court of Justice to all the fervent requests.
The court unanimously rejected a 3 -judge of 3 judges, the petitions submitted by representatives from right -wing parties, who asked the court not to “make the signature” before it was approved at the Knesset General Authority.

As a result, the Supreme Court gave the government permission to accept the deal with Lebanon.
To ratify the accord, the government is due to meet on Thursday.
The Supreme Court’s ruling, according to Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz, “will enable us to go forward with the crucial agreement on the maritime borders with Lebanon in the coming days.”

“The agreement has beneficial security, political, and economic ramifications on the entire area, he continued, adding that while it is not ideal for the study of the accord to take place so close to the elections, it is nonetheless important.
A formal signing ceremony will reportedly take place at the UN post in Naqoura, close to the Lebanese-Israeli border, following the agreement’s acceptance.
