The eighth edition of the “President of the Republic for Professional Journalist” award, with the theme “Sixteen Istiqlal: Yesterday’s Challenges, Challenges Today,” was presented by Algerian President “Abdel Majid Taboun” to the journalists.

Senior state leaders and representatives of the Algerian government attended this ceremony, which was held in the People’s Palace in Algiers on the occasion of National Press Day, which is observed on October 22 of each year.

In his speech at the ceremony, the Algerian Minister of Communication, Mohamed Buslimani, explained how the country has worked to improve the appropriate professional environment for the press family, allowing it to contribute to highlighting Algeria’s positive role, which has come to be praised both locally and internationally.

The National Press Day celebration, he continued, serves as a reminder of the important role that Algerian journalists played along the country’s various paths, as well as a chance to express the “due gratitude” of the local press family for its unwavering sacrifices on behalf of Algeria and for supporting the country’s efforts to advance, maintain its sovereignty, and uphold the dignity of its children.

The distinguished journalists came from a variety of public and private media outlets, including the print, radio, and television press.
