According to fresh evidence obtained two days after Israel attacked military facilities in and around Damascus, the strikes were directed at specialised warehouses used to store and convey vital military supplies from Syria to Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Today, Sunday, informed sources for Arabic/Al-Hadath stated that the raids conducted on Friday were directed at unit 4400, which was responsible for conveying military supplies to Hezbollah, and two warehouses used to store and move sensitive equipment from Syria to Lebanon.
It became clear that this unit conveyed harmful elements while disguising them as aid.
The sources further noted that Hanam Shahriari’s 190 Outfit of the Quds Corps in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and this unit, directed by Hajj Fadi, have worked together to move several weapons between the two nations in recent years.
However, in recent months, it began with riskier smuggling activities and increased its activity to include Iranian smuggling of sensitive weapons.
These sources did emphasise that the unit’s work has come to light, which is what led to the unit’s logistical infrastructure in Syria being bombed repeatedly.
Additionally, it emphasised how Haji Fadi’s cooperation with the Syrian government and its various elements had a negative impact on the Syrian state.
It is significant that Israel has conducted hundreds of airstrikes against targets in Syria over the past few years, including Iranian, Hezbollah, and Syrian regime army sites.
Tel Aviv seldom confirms that these operations have taken place, but its officials have repeatedly emphasised that they will continue to confront Tehran’s efforts to create a military presence in Syria.
