The foreign minister of Ukraine noted that “the Russians frequently blame others for their own planning.
“Sergey Shoigo, the defence secretary of Russia, reportedly spoke with the defence ministers of France and Britain to voice “his fears about future provocations by Ukraine deploying a dirty bomb.”
The French Ministry of Defense, for its part, stated in a statement that Shoigo had raised worries that “Ukrainians blame Russia by dropping a dirty bomb on their territory.
Sebastian Lucurno, the French Defense Minister, said that France “(rejects) any form of escalation, notably al-Nawawi,” emphasising that it is France’s intention to “contribute to a peaceful solution to the conflict with its partners.”
Communications come at a time when Russia is protesting a “substantial escalation” in Ukrainian bombardment of various Russian border areas and confronting a large-scale Ukrainian anti-Ukrainian offensive.
In light of Kyiv’s insistence on rejecting referendums that took place in the four Ukrainian regions (Logansk, Donetsk, Jeruson, and Zaburujia), military experts believe that as the Russian-Ukrainian war entered its ninth month, the likelihood that tactical nuclear weapons would be used to resolve the conflict increased.
