Xi Jinping won today, Sunday, in an unprecedented third term as the leader of the Chinese Communist Party, a step that would legally establish it at the helm of the nation for a new term in March 2023.
According to the official press agency, his term as the party’s secretary-general was extended for another five years following a vote procedure in a private meeting at the end of a general conference held every five years.
Following his renewal, Genbing promised, in statements to reporters from the People’s Palace in Beijing, “hard work in order to achieve the party’s goals and accomplish tasks,” stressing that China is a need for the whole world.
He also expressed gratitude to “all members of the confidence that I look towards him.”
“The World needs China,” after being elected for a third term.
