According to Public Security Minister Jorge Torres, two remains have been discovered off the coast of Puerto Lemon in East Costa Rica, when a tiny plane carrying passengers crashed into the Caribbean Sea.
Two bodies were also discovered, one of which belonged to a child and the other contained the bones of an adult, according to Torres. “We recovered fragments of the plane carried by the currents,” he added.
The German Foreign Ministry withheld any information regarding the victims’ identities in relation to Agence France-Presse.

On Friday, Torres reported that a tiny plane carrying five Germans had taken off from Mexico and was near the coast of Costa Rica.
“We got a warning about the disappearance of a jet, a special trip from Mexico to Lemon Airport,” Torres added.
The official added in a video recorded by his ministry that “five citizens are German on board,” the official added in a video recording published by his ministry.

“The plane lost communication with the monitoring tower near La Para de Parismina in the Costa Rica region,” he continued, “and we immediately started the internal process” to find it. He added that the plane went missing about 18:00 on Friday.
According to the Minister of Public Security, the searches were put on hold for a few hours due to “poor weather” and resumed on Saturday.
