15 million students under the microscope of the state … the initiative to treat dwarf, obesity and anemia

“With everyone working together, the impossible is doable. Thus, President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi announced it when he directed the necessity of providing health care for children after the medical survey of government schools, in which the spread of anemia, dwarf and obesity were monitored, stressing that no president in the world can solve these problems alone.

A comprehensive examination of 15 million students in the primary stage is the goal of the initiative for early disease detection (anaemia, obesity, and dwarfism) among primary school students, which the Egyptian government launched. However, it was revealed that an examination of 12 million students had already taken place in various schools throughout the Republic.

The Ministry of Health and Population explained that the initiative aims to examine 15 million students in the primary stage of Egyptians and non-Egyptians living in Egypt, in 29 thousand and 444 government and private schools. Through the initiative, the medical survey of students, weight measurement, length, and haemoglobin in blood, are done in order to detect diseases caused by malnutrition and set up the necessary mechanisms to improve students’ health, in general.

The initiative includes 250 health insurance clinics in all of the governorates of the Republic, and No. The affected cases were also transferred to any of these diseases to health insurance clinics to complete the necessary checks and disburse the treatment for free, and to give students a “follow-up card” that contains their data, to follow them up periodically and reassure their health constantly.
