Following a house fire on Sunday on Pritchard Avenue, one person is in the hospital in critical condition.
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a house fire at a bi-level home in the 700 block of Pritchard at around one in the morning.
When workers arrived, they observed that the house was emitting a lot of smoke.
According to onlookers, two persons had self-expelled, but there was still someone trapped inside the house.

Crews started putting out the fire, searched for the individual, and then brought them outside to the waiting paramedics.
After then, the patient was brought to the hospital in a critical state.
Crews also managed to rescue two cats from the house, but sadly, four more animals were discovered dead there.
By 1:44 a.m., the fire had been put out, and preliminary findings indicate that it was an accident brought on by improper disposal of smoking materials.
