In order to defend civilians and critical infrastructure, Ukrainian President Foludmir Zellinski urged US House of Representatives members to donate the necessary quantity of air defence systems to his country. He added that doing so would be a significant contribution to our security assurances.
In order to debate the problem of Kyiv acquiring the required number of air defence systems from the United States and to increase the pressure of sanctions on Russia, this occurred during the Zeilinsky meetings with a visiting American delegation.
Zelinski praised the US House of Representatives’ visit on Friday, according to Yosrnifanem, a Ukrainian news agency, calling it “of special importance amid the increase in Russia’s terrorist operations against peaceful cities and civil infrastructure and targeting them with Iranian missiles and drones.
”
“This is a major step expressing strong support from the two parties for Ukraine,” he added. “This reinforces the United States as our strategic partner.”
Voludmir Zellinski briefed members of the US House of Representatives the situation on the line of confrontation and priority needs of the Ukrainian armed forces, and praised the support of the US Congress, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, its administration and the entire American people.
The president of Ukraine demanded more funding in the meantime to promote world peace.
The two sides decided to resist Russian nuclear blackmail at the conference, which also covered topics of Kyiv security assurances and European Atlantic Integration for Ukraine.
The participants also discussed increasing sanctions against Russia, which is crucial in view of the recent terrorist atrocities Russia has committed against civilians.
Separately, the Ukrainian president emphasized the necessity of designating Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.
Additionally, Zelinski emphasized the necessity of preparing Ukraine for the winter and the urgent rebuilding of the energy infrastructure that Russia had devastated, expressing his confidence that Washington will actively participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
In turn, US House of Representatives members emphasized to the Ukrainian President the need of restoring the unity of Ukrainian territories while reiterating the US government’s unwavering support for Ukraine.
