The UN envoy to Libya stresses the importance of unifying military institutions

The Special Representative of the Secretary -General of the United Nations in Libya, Abdullah Patelli, stressed, during a meeting with the commander of the National Army, Khalifa Haftar, on Saturday, the importance of uniting security and military institutions in the country.
On Twitter, the UN mission in Libya noted that Patelli had also emphasised the value of upholding the ceasefire agreement at the Benghazi conference.

Patelli reaffirmed the support of the UN for a “sustainable” solution to bring peace and stability to Libya under the direction of the Libyan people.
For its part, the General Command of the Libyan Armed Forces stated in a brief statement on “Facebook” that the joint military committee 5+5 met the UN envoy and his accompanying delegation.

Later, the UN mission reported that it had been verified in a subsequent meeting with Prime Minister Fathi Pashaga, who is in charge of the Parliament, that the only way to end the issue is to bring the Libyans together to find a Libyan solution.
Patelli reaffirmed his commitment to helping Libya resolve its political deadlock in order to achieve peace and stability, as did the United Nations.

The UN representative in Libya emphasises the significance of integrating military organisations.
