According to figures released by the Polish Statistics Office on Friday, retail sales fell in September of last year after rising the month before.
In September, retail sales rose by 4.1% on an annual basis, barely 0.1% less than in August when they rose by 4.2%. Sales have been rising since March of last year.
The sales of textiles, apparel, and shoes saw the biggest growth, up 25 percent.

Sales of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and bone orthodontic equipment climbed significantly during the month of September, while sales of food, beverages, and tobacco products decreased by 11.1% and 7.8%, respectively, in comparison to the same month last year.
Retail sales decreased by 2. 8% on a monthly basis from the 1% growth they saw in August of last year.
