The German Foreign Ministry recommends that citizens not travel to Iran

German citizens were urged not to visit Iran by the foreign ministry, “to avoid exposure to arbitrary arrests and detention for lengthy periods.”
The Foreign Ministry issued a warning against visiting Iran on Friday, stating that German nationals there run the possibility of being arbitrarily detained, interrogated, and given lengthy sentences.

Foreigners were frequently detained at random in the past.
In light of the ongoing protests in Iran since last month, the Dutch Foreign Ministry earlier urged its citizens to forgo travel there.
