At the start of the 12th stage on Friday, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Agaxio with three straight goals to increase its lead in the French Football League.
Following an assist from Lionel Messi of Argentina, Killian Mbappe scored the first goal for the capital club in the 24th minute. Mbappe then came back to score the third goal in the 82nd minute.
With this tenth victory in the league, Saint-Germain increased its score to 32 points in the lead, six points ahead of Lorian, his closest rival, while Ajaxio maintained its position in 18th place with eight points.
Notably, Mbappe led the league’s list of top scorers for the current season with his ninth and tenth goals.
This victory serves as a “dress rehearsal” for the European qualification match against Israeli visitor Maccabi Haifa in the fifth round of the Champions League group stage.
The French club, owned by Qatari, leads its eighth group with 8 points equal to the Portuguese Benfica, which imposed a tie back and forth with one 1-1.
The Benfica club is playing a challenging match against its third Italian Juventus, with 3 points as well, while Saint-Germain can finish his qualifying if he defeats Maccabi, a seedling.
