The Czech Interior intends to request the extension of border controls with Slovakia 15 days

Fit Rakosan, the interior minister for the Czech Republic, stated that he plans to seek his government to prolong the border controls with Slovakia for an additional 15 days after the original deadline of October 28.
According to Radio “Prague International” on Friday, Rakosan stated that his ministry does not want to prolong the situation for a protracted period of time because officials want to be able to periodically re-evaluate.

To take over the controls after November 28th, the Czech Republic would require the consent of the European Union.
The Czech Republics launched on the border with Slovakia on the 29th of last September, when it was mainly supposed to continue for several days, but the government has already extended it once until the 28th of October.

Since May of last year, a rising number of immigrants have poured into the area, the majority of whom use the Czech Republic as a transit point on their journey to Germany and other Western European nations.
Finland declared in Helsinki that it intended to build fences and barbed wire along miles of its borders with Russia.

According to the (France 24) channel, Finnish Prime Minister Sana Marin stated that there is strong parliamentary support for building high metal fences along 10 to 20 percent of Finland’s 1300 km long border with Russia, at a cost of up to hundreds of millions of euros. She expressed the hope of beginning the project as soon as possible.

She explained that her government intends to build higher barriers that include solid metal nets topped by barbed wires, which extends along a road, to protect the country in the event of a thick wave of immigration . . Additionally, it acquired last year’s border between Belarus and the European Union.

It should be noted that Finland and Russia are today divided only by flimsy timber fences built during the Soviet era to keep cattle from crossing the border between the two nations.

The Czech Interior Ministry plans to ask for a 15-day extension of border checks with Slovakia.
