“Al-Taher Abu Bakr Hajar,” a member of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council, arrived in the Republic of Djibouti this evening to take part in a two-day international meeting on climate change.

The Sovereign Council Media Center also reported today that the climate summit would begin working tomorrow with the involvement of heads of state and eastern African states, including Al-Iqad, according to Ambassador Rahma Saleh Al-Obaid, the Sudanese ambassador to Djibouti.

Given that the East African region is one of the most affected by the phenomenon of climate change and its adverse effects, which have recently been manifested in droughts and floods that have directly affected people in the region, the Ambassador explained that the summit will discuss a number of significant issues at the forefront of climate changes.

She continued by saying that Sudan’s involvement in a high-level delegation helps to advance collaboration with Djibouti.
She emphasised the willingness of the two nations’ leadership to advance and strengthen these relations, pointing out that the Sudanese-Djibotian relations are founded on a solid and civic cultural tradition.
