The prospective successors to Prime Minister Liz Terrace, who abruptly quit on Thursday after serving for six weeks, have been working feverishly to gain enough support to compete for the party’s leadership before the deadline on Monday.
Johnson, who was spending a vacation in the Caribbean region when a terrace resigned and did not make any statements about an offer to restore his previous position, received the support of dozens of conservative deputies but needed to secure 100 candidacy to compete.
The former leader would return to Britain today, Saturday, according to trade minister James Doderidge, who said Johnson had told him he was “ready for it.”
Many members of the Conservative Party, which is deeply split after four prime ministers were impeached in the space of six years, are divided at the prospect of Johnson returning to the government.
Sonak is given the go-ahead to proceed.
According to supporters, former British Treasury Secretary Rishi Sonak won enough votes late Friday to contest for the job of Conservative Party leader following the resignation of a terrace.
“I am honored to be the 100th deputy of the Conservative Party, which supports Rishi,” said the prominent governor of the House of Commons of the House of Commons of the House of Commons, Tobias Elwood, and other supporters followed by Sonak’s barrier.
If Beni Mordont and Boris Johnson fail in their quest to secure 100 nominations from their conservative peers in Parliament, Sonak will automatically succeed them as the leader of the Conservative Party and Prime Minister.
Mordont makes her candidacy known.
Beni Mordont, the minister of relations with the parliament, tweeted her nomination for the position of British prime minister.
The 49-year-old, who previously held the international defence and trade bags, declared his campaign for leader of the Conservative Party and head of your ministers. “I announce my candidacy to unify our country, execute our commitments, and win the upcoming parliamentary elections,” he said.
Mourdont, who finished third in the most recent competitive contest behind Tarrach and Sonak, stated that it had inspired him to assist colleagues who wanted a fresh start, a united party, and a leadership for the country’s interests.
“I’m running to be the Conservative Party’s leader and Prime Minister, to unite our nation, to uphold our promises, and to win the upcoming general elections,” she continued.
It’s important to note that 16 lawmakers have officially declared their intention to vote for Mordont so far.
Johnson cancels his vacation and goes back to Britain, where he is appointed prime minister.
