Artificial smile can improve your mood .. a study that reveals

Smile despite whatever frustration you may be experiencing. This alone has the power to alter your attitude, and a recent study noted that an artificial smile can lift your spirits and make you cheerful, according to the “Health” website.
According to Nicholas Colls, a research scientist at Stanford University in the United States, “The grin can make people feel pleased and that the torso or grief makes you feel angry; therefore, the conscious experience of emotion must be based in part on physical sensations.”

“The theory is that the conscious experience of emotions is based on the sensations of the body, and one of the prominent examples of this is the acceleration of the heartbeat, which may be part of the feeling of fear,” Colls added in a press release.
The current study had over 3900 people from 19 different nations.

The researchers asked the last third of the study participants to move their lips in an angle to their ears and raise their cheeks using only their facial muscles. The researchers used three techniques that were thought to stimulate the muscles of the smile and used a third of the study participants in the mouth.

Each group had half of the participants perform these tasks while staring at blank screens, and the other half did so while viewing images of kittens, flowers, and fireworks.

Everyone was also asked to use a neutral expression and did this while seeing the same pictures until the participants were asked to carry out other small physical tasks, so that they do not know what is being studied, as well as to solve simple mathematical issues and then the researchers asked the participants to evaluate their happiness after each task.
The researchers discovered that when volunteers mimicked happy faces or turned their mouths up to their ears, their levels of happiness increased noticeably.

The results with the other two methods provide a convincing argument that human feelings in some way are linked to the faces of the face.
Colls claimed that while the effect isn’t strong enough to beat despair, it does offer a perceptive look at emotions.
