A protest message to the Security Council regarding the Houthi attack on two oil ports

News from Al-Madinah: According to a source in New York, the Yemeni government has sent a stern complaint on the Houthi attacks on the PAP and the ports of Radhoum to the head of the Security Council and its members. The Yemeni Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of adopting a common stance to designate the Houthi as “a terrorist group” in a statement acquired by Al-Arabiya.net.

The Yemeni administration declared in its message that all options are on the table for responding to the Houthi attack. She urged the world community to respond strongly and sternly in condemning the Iranian regime for carrying out what it labelled a terrorist attack.
She issued a warning that this attack must be dealt with severely in order to prevent harm to the Yemeni peace process, the availability of energy, and the stability of the global energy market.

On Friday, the Houthi organisation decided to strike the oil port of Al-Daba in southeast Yemen’s Hadramout Governorate, while the Yemeni government declared that all options were on the table to respond to the Houthi onslaught.
The media also said that a non-damaging strike took place at the Shabwa Governorate’s integrated port.

After the attack on the Al-Daba oil terminal in Hadramout Governorate yesterday, Yemeni Foreign Minister Ahmed bin Mubarak emphasised today, Saturday, the urgent necessity for the international community to declare the Houthi group “a terrorist organisation.”

In response to the Houthi attacks on the oil export ports, which “represent a threat to security and peace in the region and a challenge to all international efforts in its efforts to extend the truce,” Bin Mubarak claimed on Twitter that he had informed Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary-General Nayef Al-Hajraf of this over the phone.

“He further stated that he emphasised the need for the Houthi party to categorise in a phone chat with the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussein Taha, “to dissuade it from violence and terrorism and return to the alternative of peace.

The Minister stressed that these attacks strengthen the belief that the organisation “would never be a partner in peace” in a phone call with UN Special Envoy Hans Grendberg yesterday, demanding that action be taken against the Houthi “threats” and prosecute its perpetrators.

In order to ensure the security of supplies and the flow of energy, Bin Mubarak assured the UN representative that these actions undermine all international efforts to put an end to the war in Yemen and bring about peace, including efforts to extend and expand the truce. He also warned of the “catastrophic” consequences of these actions.
