Zellinski: Russia turns the Ukrainian electricity network to a battlefield

“The Russian leadership gave the matter to convert the energy network a battlefield, and the consequences of this are very dangerous, again, for all of us in Europe,” Zellinski said during an intervention before the European Union Council.
He continued, “Russia causes a new surge of Ukrainian migration to the European Union.

“After the Russian missile strikes and drone attacks, which resulted in the destruction of more than 30% of the nation’s power plants in a week, procedures for limiting energy use were implemented throughout all of Ukraine.
Zellinski announced that the Russian bombing of Ukrainian energy facilities “aims to cause the largest number of electricity and heating problems for Ukraine in the fall and winter and to urge the largest number of Ukrainians to go to your countries.

The Ukrainian President responded by urging the European nations to give the Ukrainian army more modern air defences and to put further economic penalties on Moscow to lessen its ability to fund the conflict.
He also emphasised that, in light of the Ukrainian army’s warnings about the threat of a larger Russian onslaught from Belarusian territory, the Ukrainian plan to send an international monitoring team to the Ukrainian-Belarusian border “becomes more important every day.”

According to Zellinski, Russia has turned the Ukrainian energy grid into a battleground.
